Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway is the first intercity high-speed railway with a design speed of 250 km/h in the Yangtze River Delta. Suzhou New District Station serves as a key intermediate passenger station along the line. The station front square project is located in Xushuguan Area, Suzhou High-tech Zone, acting as a gateway transport hub supporting the intercity railway. Covering a total area of approximately 150,000 ㎡, the layout consists of main landscape distribution square, bus terminal, parking lot for private vehicles, supporting municipal roads (Jinqiao Road, Hulian Road), pedestrian passages, water supply & drainage pipe network, landscape lighting, traffic safety facilities, permeable pavement and greening systems. It forms an integrated transport hub combining high-speed rail passenger transport, public transit transfer and public gathering. As a matching project to be put into operation synchronously with the intercity railway main line, the construction schedule was tight with cross-operation of civil engineering, landscape and pipeline works. After completion, the square improved the comprehensive transport network in northwest Suzhou, boosted TOD urban development in Hutong Area, and strengthened rapid commuter links between Suzhou, Shanghai and Wuxi.

Zhongchun Group delivered centralized procurement and supply of full-set municipal materials for the hub square. Supplied products include permeable pavement slabs, precast concrete components, landscape guardrails, drainage pipes, lighting fixtures, subgrade stabilization materials, traffic signs, expansion joints and greening construction materials. Facing tight deadlines and multi-discipline overlapping construction at the railway hub, we implemented zoned and phased delivery schedules to ensure simultaneous completion of square, terminal and auxiliary roads, realizing synchronized opening with Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway.
